Jose Mourinho fined for putting "additional layer of pressure" on Anthony Taylor ahead of Liverpool clash

Jose Mourinho was fined for putting "an additional layer of pressure" on official Anthony Taylor ahead of Manchester United's clash with Liverpool.

The two sides played out a 0-0 draw last month with Mourinho charged for comments made ahead of the clash.
"I think somebody with intention, is putting much pressure on him, that I feel it will be difficult for him to have a very good performance," the United boss said.
He was charged with improper conduct and fined £50,000 by the FA.
An independent commission have now explained the decision to punish the Manchester United boss.
Manchester United's Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho gestures during the English Premier League football match between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield in Liverpool, north west England on October 17, 2016.
Despite saying that he did not want to say anything, he contradicts himself by offering actual comment on the match official," the commission concluded.
"This opinion, his opinion, was that he felt it would be difficult for Anthony Taylor to have a very good performance. There was no need for Mr Mourinho to be drawn into offering an opinion.
"The regulatory commission considered this opinion to bring an additional layer of pressure and implication onto the referee, which could have had a negative impact on the game."
"The independent panel noted that Taylor's performance "appeared to have been unaffected by this additional pressure."

Mourinho was also given a touchline ban after comments made to referee Mark Clattenburg during the draw with Burnley.
The United boss was sent to the stands during the game and served the ban against Swansea before the international break.
He will be back on the touchline when United welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford this weekend
