Police probing missing teen reveal true story behind disturbing video of 'kidnapped girl' screaming on floor

Kayla Berg was 15 when she vanished in August 2009 from Antigo

Police investigating the disappearance of a teenager say a disturbing viral video that features a screaming, bound woman is NOT the missing girl.

Wisconsin Police carried out an investigation into the creepy YouTube clip entitled 'Hi Walter! It's me Patrick!' after suggestions the woman filmed screaming was Kayla Berg, who disappeared aged 15 in 2009.
And they later revealed the short film is a hoax produced by amateur actors.
The film surfaced on YouTube over the summer and features a man in glasses apparently showing off a woman tied up and screaming in a bathroom.
There were several efforts to debunk the video and it was eventually removed by the original poster.
But in recent weeks it has been suggested the girl bears a resemblance to the high-profile missing woman.
However, police involved in the search for Kayla took to Facebook this morning to clarify the situation.
They wrote: "The Antigo Police Department has been investigating the Hi Walter, its Patrick, I have a new girlfriend video that was on youtube.com.
"The Antigo Police with the help of another law enforcement agency has been able to identify that this video is 100% fake and was a video that was produced to be placed on youtube.com.
"The Antigo Police Department has identified the video producer/camera man, actor and actress in the video. THIS VIDEO HAS NO CONNECTION TO THE DISAPPEARANCE OF KAYLA BERG.
"Thank you to everyone for their assistance in this investigation"
Kayla was 15 when she disappeared in the small city of Antigo, Wisconsin, in 2009.
She was dropped off at a derelict house where she said her boyfriend was staying, and has not been seen since.
No one has ever been charged in connection with her disappearance.
Kayla's family agreed the girl's appearance and voice sound similar when contacted.
Her mum Hope Sprenger told WAOW : "“[It] sounded like her, looked like her, it gave me chills.
"Disturbing. It made me sick to my stomach.
I thought it looked a lot like her,” she added. “I pray to God it’s not."
Kayla's brother Jimmy posted on Facebok: "Ok...for everyone messaging me...yes I’ve seen the video...and to be honest, I almost had a panic attack at work..shut down my machines and had to go sit outside.
"If your wanting my opinion let’s just say this...we’ve contacted the FBI because our local PD doesn't have the experience needed for this.
"Hope that answers your questions. Now please stop blowing up my phone. (sic)"
