With her flawless makeup, sultry pout and interesting chat, it's not surprising that Lauren Urasek has been dubbed the most popular online dater in the world.
The 26-year-old make-up artist was found to be receiving a whopping 35 messages a day from male admirers on the dating website, OkCupid.
She also racked up more than 15,000 four - and five-star ratings in just three months, with record numbers of users desperate to take her out.
But being one of the most desired women on the web comes at a price - with Lauren having received many creepy or X-rated messages from strangers.
The young woman, who has a number of colourful tattoos on her arms and thighs, was asked by one vulgar user: "Where else on ur body do u have tatz?"
A second messaged her: "Hello miss. What's the biggest you've taken?”, while a third wrote: "I’m a phenomenal kisser. When can I impress you?"
Another user simply asked her: “Wanna trade some naughty pics?."
But amid the inappropriate messages, Lauren also received some thoughtful comments from men, persuading her to go on a date with them.
Lauren’s online dating tips for men
1. Use clear and current photos
2. Don’t wear sunglasses, go shirtless or use a group shot
3. Write unique things on your profile
4. Use proper grammar and don’t make spelling mistakes
5. Send respectful and thoughtful messages
However, in a few of these cases, her experience turned out to be even more of a disaster – with one man telling strangers she was his fiancée on their first date.
"I went out with this guy one time who seemed great at first and a couple hours into the date he seemed to have a split personality," Lauren told Mirror Online.
"He started calling me his fiancée in front of strangers and got extremely jealous when I started a conversation with a random girl at the restaurant we were at.
"He also got into a fight with a cab driver and invited his super weird cousin to come hang out with us."
She added that another man went in for a kiss within the first 10 minutes of their date, while one subjected her to a horrifying ‘girlfriend job interview’.
Lauren, from Los Angeles, US, discovered she was the most popular heterosexual woman on OkCupid - one of the largest dating sites in the world - in 2014.
She was told she had received 245 messages in just one week - or 35 a day.
The young woman is still not sure why her profile attracted so many users, but she believes it could have been down to her blue eyes, tattoos and accurate spelling.
In her new book, Popular, she elaborates on the possible reasons why hundreds of thousands of men decided to click on her profile.
She writes: "It could be the tattoos, blue eyes, and correct spelling on my profile, or the fact that I don’t write generic things like 'I’m living my life to the fullest and I love long walks on the beach!'
"It could be that looking for a man isn’t the most important thing going on in my life. (I think it’s a problem when it is.) I’m confident and secure in who I am without having a partner.
"I have a strong opinion and know what I want. Maybe dudes like that? Or maybe they just have a fantasy of f***ing a girl with tons of tattoos?"
However, Lauren, a former ‘ugly duckling’, also thinks she may have been 'somewhat lucky' the week the sample of data was taken.
"So many men contact so many women online. I don’t think I’m necessarily special,” she told Mirror Online.
But she added: “Whatever the reason, I’m not going to lie, it’s pretty nice having my pick of the litter now, since I never did growing up.”
The make-up artist and author, who makes sure all of her online photos are of ‘good quality’, first joined OkCupid in 2012 after her then-relationship ended.
During her time on the site, she said she was extremely 'selective' in her choice of men, basing her decision on users' images, profiles and messages.
"If meeting online, I want to go out with someone I can have some witty banter naturally back and forth with," she said.
"The conversation should keep flowing and if we are also physically attracted to each other then a first date usually happens."
Lauren, who later joined Tinder in her bid to find a potential match, said many men pick the wrong photos, and words, for their profiles.
When asked what snaps they should choose, she said: "A variety of clear and current photos."
She added: "Don’t use group, shirtless, or photos where you’re wearing sunglasses. Write unique things that the last five people didn’t write and use proper grammar."
One man who certainly didn’t adhere to Lauren’s rules was an impatient user who messaged her: “Hey, what’s up,” followed by: “Cute pics.”
The next day, after receiving no response, he wrote: "??", then: "Hey." Less than 12 hours later, he sent Lauren an X-Rated question, far too graphic to print here.
Another man wore appropriate clothing in his profile picture – but completely ruined his chances within minutes of striking up contact with the young woman.
After they had exchanged a couple of sentences with each other, Lauren said: “You do seem like a nice guy, but I do think we are kind of in different places right now.”
Furious, the man replied: “Go f*** yourself in your place right now.”
A third user started off the conversation well by asking Lauren: “Hey, wanna get a beer later this week?”, to which she responded: “Yes, why not :).”
However, he then dropped a huge bombshell, writing: “I should tell you, I have a girlfriend, so we have to keep it in the down low (sic).”
A fourth man picked a strange way to compliment Lauren, telling her: “You look like a serial killer,” while a fifth asked her: “Do you like older guys with big toys?”
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Lauren, who identifies as a feminist, said she responded to only one per cent of the messages she received from men online.
She added that she is currently not active on any dating websites – although she continues to get messages on Instagram and other social networks.
“I’m not on any dating sites now,” she told Mirror Online. “I'm dating one person right now and while it's still new, I'm going to see where it goes.”
Lauren, who used to live in New York, has her own blog, They Really Said This, on which she features some of the creepy messages she receives from men.
She saw an influx in messages in early 2014 after New York Magazine ran an articleon how she was one of the most desired people in the city.
She now has nearly 30,000 followers on Instagram, with a further 2,200 on Twitter.
Lauren’s book, Popular: The Ups and Downs of Online Dating from the Most Popular Girl in New York City, was published in the UK last month.
