This dramatic video shows the moment a police officer smashes a car windscreen after a driver refuses to get out of his vehicle.
Captured on a mobile phone by a man inside the car, the video has gone viral on Twitter and other social network.
While it is not clear when or where the footage was taken, it is thought to have been recorded recently in London.
The short footage begins with a police officer standing outside a car as the driver records.
He then grabs hold of an open window and attempts to pull the door open before asking the man to get out three times.
He then tells the man:" You're not allowed to drive it", before swinging what appears to be a baton at the car four times.
The officer then shouts loudly at the driver once more: "Get out of the car", and uses the base of the baton to hit the side window.
The policeman then leans towards the driver once again and orders him to get out of the car, to which the man inside replies: "I've got a licence. I've got a licence, I've got insurance."
In the footage, which has gone viral after it was shared by a former member of the music group So Solid Crew, the officer then moves to the front of the car and smashes the windscreen.
As this unfolds, the driver says to him: "You're smashing this for no reason. Look, look what they are doing to my car.
He then says again to the police officer: "I've got a licence and insurance," at which point the officer again hits the windscreen with his baton.
The driver then asks: "What's the problem officer. Why ain't I allowed to drive the car?"
The officer alleges: "You're disqualified. You're not allowed to drive", and then pulls out what appears to be a pen knife and begins sawing at the hole made in the glass by his earlier blows.
As the camera keeps on rolling, the driver gets out and is quickly approached by another police officer who orders him back into the car as the driver exclaims: "I'm not TJ, I'm not TJ."
A different officer tells him: "Relax man, relax" as the driver says he is recording for his safety.
With the screen black, the audio continues as officers tell him "we need to find out who you are", before apparently speaking on their radio to control and relaying that they had the 'male out of the car'.
One officer then asks the driver: "What's your name then fella', to which he replies: "I'm not TJ".
When asked why the officer smashed the windscreen, a voice is heard saying: "I can't see who you are in that car".
The driver then asks the officer: "Do you know what you just done?" to which the officer apparently replies: "I've done absolutely nothing, I just need to know who you are."
As the footage ends, the driver tells the police his name is Leon, to which the officer responds: "Leon that's it. I've not seen you in a long time fella."
