Kim Kardashian's armed robbers 'were amateurs who made mistakes in £8.5m heist'
The men who robbed Kim Kardashian at gunpoint were reportedly total 'amateurs'.
The reality TV beauty was the victim of an £8.5 million heist in her Paris apartment last week, when she was tied, gagged and held at gunpoint as they stole her jewellery.
According to TMZ, Kim told police officers that the robbers were "tentative" and "extremely hesitant" - and after they pointed the gun at her head, it's said walked away before turning to threaten her with the weapon a second time.
While the gang only spoke French, it reportedly seemed to the star as if they were arguing over how to carry out the heist.
The report adds that the thieves "used a garden-variety backpack to carry the jewels out", but one $33,000 necklace fell out as they escaped the scene
Furthermore zip ties and duct tape were also left behind.
However, it follows reports the thieves managed to fool cops by using a clever decoy escape plan .
An insider told Us Weekly : "They wanted us to believe that they were amateurs, but all the real clues point to them being extremely sophisticated professionals. There is no way a gang like this would drop stuff and fall off bicycles — all that was done for any cameras that might be in the area.
"It is far more likely that they played around on bikes for a few minutes after stealing the jewels, and when they still had their masks on, before they all got into a van and disappeared."
One of the pieces of jewellery that was taken - a $33,180 diamond cross - was later found on the pavement nearby.
The insider also explained why there is no CCTV at the hotel, sharing: "This is because of the status of celebrity and other multi-millionaire guests who do not want to be filmed under any circumstances."
We have contacted Kim's rep for comment.
