Fans may be waiting longer than they'd hoped for a new Batman movie after Ben Affleck revealed that he is still negotiating what budget he is going to have to spend on his movie.
The 44-year-old actor is in the process of creating a new standalone movie focused on the famous DC Comics character, who he has portrayed in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and will again in the upcoming Justice League film, which he is writing, directing and starring in.
The film has been predicted to be released in 18 months time but Affleck insists there is no shooting schedule in place yet as he hasn't finished the script and hasn't finalised how much money he has to spend with Warner Bros. Studios who are backing the project with DC Entertainment.
In a Facebook Live interview, he said: "There is no Batman movie happening yet, we're still trying to figure it out, you know, get the script and budget and all that stuff."
Affleck has also clarified comments he made earlier in the week in which he suggested the title of the superhero flick will be The Batman.
The Oscar winner insists he was just thinking out loud when he made the comment and he hasn't yet got a name in the frame.
He explained: "I mentioned it the other day... it's been around for a long time, but the movie... and someone said, 'What are you calling it?' and I had said, like, back when we were promoting another movie, I was like, 'We don't have a name for it, we're just going with 'The Batman' or Batman movie', and I said that, and everyone was like 'Affleck announces the name of his Batman movie.'"
It is known that the hunky Joe Manganiello will bring his toned physique to the table to play supervillain Deathstroke in the Batman film.
Affleck will next be seen in Batman's cape and cowl in superhero ensemble movie Justice League along with Ezra Miller, as The Flash, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill's Superman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Ray Fisher's Cyborg.
Shooting in London wrapped on the project last weekend but there are still a few days of filming to take place in Iceland before director Zack Snyder and the team can start the editing process.
